Monday September 1, 2:30pm, Miss Lou’s Room, Free
Before the deep fissure caused by World War II, Poland was a dynamic Jewish centre for over 1,000 years. The cultural climate in Poland today, decades since the fall of Communism, is fascinating, increasingly embracing its Jewish past and present and leaving room for Jews from abroad to rediscover a relationship to the place and its people. Join an animated roundtable panel discussion about the changing face of Poland, featuring artists and researchers whose recent travels in Poland have inspired new initiatives and artistic projects. With photographer and filmmaker David Kaufman, curator and producer Evelyn Tauben, filmmaker Francine Zuckerman, author/academic Erica Lehrer, and producer and researcher Ellie Shapiro.
