Channukah 2014

Saturday December 20, 7-9pm – FREE
Schwartz-Reisman Centre, Lebovic Campus, 9600 Bathurst St.

Ashkenaz is pleased to participate this year in community Channukah festivities at the Schwartz-Reisman Centre in Vaughan, as part of our York Region Initiative, and in partnership with the JCCs of Greater Toronto.

Ashkenaz will host family-friendly activities, including face-painting and craft-making of homemade instruments, with live klezmer music from The Horables. The evening will culminate with a reprise of our Ashkenaz Festival favourite Jewish Jug Band led by Joshua Skye Engel. Crafters will have the chance to try out their homemade instruments from our workshop, including shakers and the fantastic ClariZoo (or is it KazooRinet?). All ages are welcome and participants are welcome to bring an instrument of their own (real or homemade), to be part of a cacophonous, intergenerational jam session of Channukah favourites and more. All the programming is free.
