We’re pleased to team up with our friends in Montreal and New York to present a tri-city, in-person and live-streamed closing event for this summer’s virtual KlezKanada Retreat. The event can be viewed online on Facebook or this Vimeo link: https://vimeo.com/590138282/58307812ae
The evening will consist of the following:

– 8:45pm ET: A special online-only havdole ceremony celebrating the end of Shabes, presented by Fentster. Featuring The Tower of the Sacred and Ordinary, an art installation by Daniel Toretsky.

– 9-9:45pm ET: A concert and informal jam produced by Ashkenaz and featuring the Toronto Klezmer Society.
Live-streamed on Facebook and Vimeo, and in-person at Drom Taberna, 458 Queen St. W, Toronto, ON
The event will begin with a set by the core members of TKS at 9pm on the patio stage at Drom Taberna. At 9:30pm, the band will move to the alley behind the venue for the jam session. If you are interested in joining the jam session be in the alley with your instrument and ready to play at 9:30.

*Note that the music and jamming continues in-person at Drom Taberna until 11pm, even after the livestream has shifted to NYC at 9:45pm

– 9:45-10:30pm ET: A popup performance and jam with the Klezmer Picnic Band, co-produced by the Center for Traditional Music and Dance and Yiddish New York.
